英語を話せるようになりたい、分かるようになりたいと思っている方はたくさんいらっしゃいます。

文法や用法など、勉強することで身につくこともありますが、実際に使う英語となると、これはもう何度も聞いて使っていくしかありません。しかし、残念なことに、今の日本で気軽に英語を使える場所はなかなかないようです。

このレッスンが目指すのは、レッスンの中でちょっとした英語を一緒に使うことで無理なく英語に馴染んでいくこと。ですから、挨拶だけでも、片言の英語を混ぜながらでも、全くゼロの出発でもいいのです。聞いて使ってみて、を少しずつ繰り返すだけでも全然違います。そして、英語を勉強することに集中するのではなく、『音楽を楽しむ過程で英語を使う』ことで、英語を学ぶことの本来の目的である『表現したい気持ち・伝えたい気持ち』を育てられたらと思います。

今まで何人ものお子さんにレッスンをしてきて、私が感じたこと。それは、

子どもは、誰かと一緒に弾くのが大好き。

その誰かがお母さんやお父さん、大好きなおじいちゃんおばあちゃんだったらもっと嬉しい。

ということです。

音楽の醍醐味は、なんと言っても色んな人と年代や国境を越えて一緒に演奏できること。

そしてそれは、お母さんとでもお父さんとでも、おじいちゃんやおばあちゃんとでも同じことです。

お子さんと一緒に弾いてみたら、ただ聞いているだけでは分からない色んなことを、お子さんと分かち合うことができます。

一緒に弾くということは、相手のことをよく聞くということ。よく聞くようになれば、耳も育てることができますし集中力もつ

きます。全部の曲を一緒に弾く必要はありません。できることだけでも結構です。

What I realized throughout my teaching carrier is that kids love playing with someone. 

If that someone is their mother, father, grandma or grandpa, that would be super!

The most enjoyable part of music is to be able to communicate with almost anyone at any age in the world.  If you play together with children in their lesson, you will be surprised to discover the joy of music and share the challenge of learning the instrument. To play together is to listen to each other. If you listen carefully, you can also train your ears and focus. You don't have to play everything. Just one song, or even one part of a song is enough.

I can tap in 2 and 4. My rhythmic sense should be fine...but still I feel like I'm missing something..

Technique is important in order to play instruments, but even more important is to have good ears. Now, good ears doesn't mean "perfect pitch". Good ears are the ability to be able to hear great tones, subtle time feel, and how the music moves.  If you can understand how to listen to music, your musical world will expand almost infinitely.
