Q. 大人になってからでは遅い?

 Is it to late to start lessons when you grow up?

A. 問題ありません。No problem.

小さな頃から始める方が自由に使える時間が多いので、身体的な上達は早いかもしれません。しかし、大人の方は、これまで培ってきた色んな経験を通して考えることができます。大人だからこそできるアプローチがあります！

Little kids have more time to spend compared to adults, so they might be able to progress faster in that sense. However, adults can utilize their knowledge through their experiences and progress faster in many ways.

Q. 発表会はありますか？

Are there any performance opportunities in front of people?

A. 生徒さんの希望で決めます。ただ、普通の発表会というよりかは、みんなでお披露目をするというスタンスで、そしてみんなで一緒に弾く時間なども設けたカジュアルなものと考えてください。

We will try to have a performance showcase opportunity for our students at least once a year. 

Q. 入会費などの費用に関しては？

 Is there an enrollment fee?

A. 入会費はいただいていません。その代わり、レッスンを始めるにあたってのお願い事を守ってください。お月謝は、前月末までに納めていただきます。テキストや教材費はその都度ご購入いただきます。発表会を行う場合には、別途費用がかかることになりますので、ご了承ください。

There is no enrollment fee. When you start lessons, please read carefully agreements and follow the rules. Monthly fees must be paid by the end of the previous month. The cost of textbooks and other materials you might need is not included in the lesson fees.  When we do "Happyoukai" (Performance opportunity), there will be some costs also. 

Q. レッスンを始めるにあたってのお願い事とは何ですか？

What is the agreement?

A. 詳しくは、レッスンを始めることになってからお渡ししますが、主にレッスンを受ける際に守ってほしいことや振り替えレッスンに関する決まりなどです。

You will receive the agreement when you decide to start taking lessons. It contains important rules and explains the policy regarding make up lessons etc.

Q. どんなMethod(方法）でレッスンを行いますか？ 

What kind of methods do you use?

A. ご本人とお話しをして決めていきますが、お子さんや初心者の方にはAlfred（アルフレッド）の教材やBastien（バスチャン）の教材をおすすめすることがあります。その他であれば、バイエルなどを使うこともありますし、お好きな曲から始めることも可能です。

また、読譜力をつけるために、ゲーム感覚の音符カードやリズムカードを使用することもあります。

ジャズであればRealbookなどのスタンダード曲集や、アメリカの多くの音楽大学のジャズ科で使われるJazz Piano Bookなどを使うこともあります。

After the initial consultation we will decide the best method for the student. Alfred, Faber and Faber and Bastien are very popular methods for kids and beginners in the USA. If a student wants to play a specific song, we will start from there.

For reading (especially for kids), sometimes we will use cards and games.

For Jazz, we will use Realbooks  for standards, and "The Jazz Piano Book" which is used in many music jazz conservatories New York.
